India and China Prepare for the 25th Special Representatives Boundary Talks

National Security Adviser Ajit Doval arrived in Beijing on 24 August 2026 for a two-day visit ahead of the 25th round of India-China Special Representatives talks. He and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi are the designated Special Representatives. The mechanism was established in 2003 to address the boundary question comprehensively. The announced agenda covers the boundary issue as well as bilateral, regional and international relations. The visit follows prolonged strain after the 2020 Galwan Valley clash and subsequent military stand-off in eastern Ladakh. External Affairs Minister S.
