RISE Conclave Tests Whether Non-Metro Innovation Can Cross the Lab-to-Market Gap
The 6th RISE Conclave opened at CSIR-IICB in Kolkata on 6 September 2026 to connect research institutions, startups, industry, investors and government. Four participating CSIR laboratories organised the programme around Minerals, Medicine, Materials and Machines. The official release recorded 8 memoranda of understanding, 4 technology transfers, 2 product launches, 1 facility inauguration and 67 experts across 8 panels. It also stated that more than 50-60% of India's startups are outside metropolitan cities, presenting Tier-2 and Tier-3 centres as an important innovation geography.
